A successful meeting with the MAGHREB collaborators and the local representative of Boehringer-Ingelheim has been held at the University of Fez, Morocco, in May 2010. BOLD Principal Investigators from Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia have reported on progress to date and issues have been discussed with the co-ordinating centre team. Professor Nadia Ait - Khaled presented the COPD agenda on behalf of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease.  We also attended some BOLD home visits in one of the sampled districts. This was an excellent opportunity to meet the Fez team, to appreciate their enthusiasm and dedication and also to discover the hospitability of the study volunteers.
