The BOLD study in Ile-Ife, Nigeria is supported by the Wellcome Trust, as part of a Masters Fellowship awarded to Dr. Daniel Osagbemworhue Obaseki. The local team was selected after successful completion of training in spirometry and questionnaire administration and is co-ordinated by Mr. Awoniyi Francis Olubanji and Dr. Obaseki. Data collection is in progress and is supported by the local health authorities and the Obafemi Awolowo University.
